Wonders of South - From Khor Virap to Noravank

This day is entirely dedicated to the discovery of South, one of the most picturesque parts of Armenia.

We will leave Yerevan to discover changing landscapes, views and monuments of great importance and beauty in the Southern part of Armenia. We will drive through Ararat plain and make a stop at Khor Virap, located at the foot of the legendary Mt. Ararat, believed to be the resting place of Noah’s Ark. Continuing our way through the mountains, we will reach Vayots Dzor region which is rich in history, art and viniculture.
*Possibility of arranging a visit to “Areni-1” cave where one of the oldest wine making facilities and the oldest leather shoe has been discovered recently.


Driving through spectacular Noravank gorge, we will make a stop at Noravank monastery, dominating the gorge, famous for its red rocks. Noravank monastery is a masterpiece of 13-14 th centuries architect Momik and stands out with its intricate carvings and decorations.

In this beautiful area, we will have a short walk enjoying the rocky landscape and peaceful mountain scenery.

In the evening back to the capital for a cozy dinner in the city center.
